Remember that everyone has their own unique skincare routine to suite their unique skin. In this post I share some of the products that my skin have been loving recently <3
My skin has gone through and continues to go through so many stages depending on the weather, season, mensural cycle, diet...you get the point.
For now, my skin has been super dry as the weather seems to be super drying. My main skincare goals for this season is to have something hydrating but gentle.
While I have read and watched countless reviews on certain skincare products, I have always been cautious of their prices. One important detail is that skincare products don't need to cost an arm and a leg to work. If you do your research and test out what you can. Then you are bound to find something that works for you at an affordable price.
1) Cleansers, Washes & Scrubs...Oh my!
I have tried out a few different formulas for cleansers, and I have to say a foamy cleanser is my cup of tea. Something about a foamy face wash makes my skin feel sparkling clean!
My top tip ~ always double cleanse! Once for loosening dirt and oils and a second time for making sure all dirt and grime is washed away.
I love a gentle face exfoliator. Keyword here is 'gentle'. Too many exfoliators now-a-days strip essential oils or remove excess skin, causing irritation and dryness.
Here are some of the cleansers, washes and scrubs that I keep stocked :
This cleanser does wonders for helping remove face
and eye makeup all while retaining hydration.
Contains 3 essential ceramides which help protect
the skins natural barrier.
Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to retain skin's moisture
Fragrance free and non-comedogenic
Can be used on both face and body for stubborn dry,
rough or bumpy areas.
Unique formula with Salicylic Acid help exfoliate the skin
without disrupting the skins natural barrier.
Contains 3 essential ceramides which help protect
the skins natural barrier.
Fragrance free and non-comedogenic.
While most facial exfoliators can be quite rough
on my skin, I enjoy using this electric facial
exfoliating tool with some CeraVe cleanser instead.
Portable, waterproof and rechargeable.
2) Serums and Spot Treatments
My skin tends to become obsessed with treatment products for a few months and then absolutely rejects them from my routine. Trying out new face serums and spot treatments is quite a regular thing for my skin.
However, there are a few products which have been in the green for my skin (fingers crossed).
With 2 % Succininc Acid, the treatment helps reduce
blemish size, reduce oil levels and unblocks pores.
Suggested to use a Hyaluronic or Salicylic Acid cleanser
before applying the treatment.
Soothes dry skin and irritation thanks to the algae
extract.
A gentle serum that is lightweight, non greasy and
easily absorbed into the skin.
This skin clearing serum is perfect to balance oily
sebum, helping you to reduce congested pores on skin.
3) Hydration Please!
Lastly, I go in with a trusty moisturising cream. This part can be daunting as most 'hydrating' creams are THICK and leave my skin feeling heavy, greasy or sticky.
I have tried out a fair few creams, which I have absolutely hated.
Thankfully, after doing these trial and errors. I have come across one which has been quite lovely.
My top tip ~ Skincare works best when you use the same brand throughout your skincare routine. If you find your routine is not working, maybe try using the same brand with all your steps for a while and see if that changes anything.
Hydrates while softening and smoothing the skin.
Salicylic Acid gently exfoliates the skin while Hyaluronic Acid retains the skin's natural moisture.
Fragrance free and non-comedogenic
